gluten-free goodness

We offer gluten-free bread as an option on our daily menu for an additional charge of $1 per sandwich.   Our made-from-scratch soups are almost always gluten-free, without the use of flour-based roux.  And we can alter nearly everything we make to meet your gluten-free needs, while keeping it delicious.

happy hours

Watch for the occasional Thursday night Happy Hour (5-7pm). On these select Thursday’s our chef will suggest wine and beer pairings with your soup. While you’re here take a look around the Leftbank Project – take a self-guided tour by following the points of interest markers around the building.

light footprint, every way.

We are doing our part to save the planet as well.    Though they may look and feel like plastic, our “To-Go” containers and flatware are 100% biodegradable and compostable, and are made from recycled paper, sugar cane, hemp, corn, bamboo, or potatoes.

Locally sourced, seasonal ingredients

We source our ingredients from local farmers, which means that the menu is always fresh and changing.

Bread

All of our baked goods are made with sustainably grown Shepherd’s Grain Flours while our produce is locally grown by Millennium Farms and Creative Growers. So grab a sandwich or a panini and have a seat, or maybe pop into the Hive, a 22-desk, co-working space on the same floor.

stumptown coffee

We are proud to serve coffee and espresso from Stumptown Coffee Roasters.   They are pioneers in a new model of coffee trading, one they call Direct Trade.    Stumptown partners with specific farmers around the world, working to elevate both their quality of life and the integrity of the beans they grow.    It’s a practice that has helped them to cultivate some of the finest cups of coffee the world has known, all roasted locally and replenished daily (that means super fresh!).

sustainable seafood

We buy all of our seafood in accordance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch guidelines for sustainability.

Our soups are hot!

Our soups are made-from-scratch with local and, where possible, organic ingredients. We offer one to two fresh soups each day.

Place to meet and have a juice or a beer

We feature numerous local beverages including Hot Lips sodas - made from Oregon grown fruit - and Kombucha.   None of our beverages contain high fructose corn syrup.   We have uber-local Upright beer on tap - brewed right in the basement of the building - and we also feature regional wines.
